Lightning Strike - City

Lightning strikes are an inevitable part of the weather here in the South. These high-voltage surges come in through telephone lines, power lines, and sometimes, even your cable TV line. You can purchase power strips to help protect you from some of these strikes, but none can spare you from a strike that hits close to your home; the voltage and intensity is simply too much for the circuits to handle and despite your best efforts, your valuable electronics are subject to severe damage as a result.

If you have suffered an unfortunate episode where weather has damaged your computer, we can in most cases repair your computer and provide written estimates that are suitable for submission to your insurance company for storm damage claims. We use the same high-quality parts for your repair that we use in our new system builds and are 100% ATX industry standard by some of the top name-brands in the business.

If the data on your computer is worth more to you than the computer itself, we can salvage your vital information from your damaged computer, provided the hard drive itself wasn't destroyed in the lightning strike.

We can either transfer your data drive from the damaged computer to another of your computers, transfer the data to a DVD or CD-ROM, or rebuild your computer and use your current data drive with it, so you don't lose those business-critical documents, irreplacable family photos, and favorite songs and movies that reside on your computer.

The assessment fee of $75.00 is for identifying the damaged components for insurance claims. Any repairs or data recovery are separate charges but we strive to be competitive and before you write-off your computer, let us see if replacing one or more minor components can bring your computer back to life.

We also offer a full-line of surge-supressing equipment that will help protect your valuable computer.

Most power strips are nothing more than extension chords and do little to protect sensitive computer equipment. Our products come with insurance policies that guarantee your protection or the manufacturer will pay to repair your computer. We also stock uninteruptable power supplies (UPS's). These devices keep your computer running in the event of a power failure, thus keeping your computer on long enough to save your valuable documents and information. They also compensate for "brown outs", those sags in voltage we experience time to time, especially during the Summer when power consumption is at its peak. One other function they serve is that they are extremely efficient surge-suppressors and are the top line defense against surges on the computer.
